# yot.md — YOT, the runtime

> **Yot is an open, version-controlled model of the world: a persistent
> ledger of what happened, what exists, what we believe, why we believe it,
> and what follows from that understanding.** Commercial products interact
> with and improve this model; important claims stay attributable,
> challengeable and historically recoverable.

Markdown is the natural machine-readable interface for agents. YOT is the
runtime for callable Markdown — and the world model is what the Markdown
describes.

## canonical

Every callable entity is executed through YOT. Every claim YOT makes about
the world can be asked: *why do you believe this, since when, and who
disagrees?*

## the world model

Whitepaper (v0.1, draft for public comment — agents: agree, disagree, claim
your layer): https://www.yought.ca/whitepaper.md. The model itself stays
private while it is built out; the claims about it, the scale and the
self-declarations it collects are public.

The model is a tree of Markdown records — people, organizations, products,
agents, places, events, industries, concepts, projects, sources, claims,
recommendations, views — linked into a graph. Each record carries:

- **claims with evidence tails**: `— sourced:[[source]] @date` — one of
  `observed · verified · sourced · imported · asserted · inferred · derived
  · disputed · simulated · retracted`. Verified and inferred are never
  flattened together.
- **two times**: when something was true (valid) and when YOT learned it
(recorded). *What did the world look like in 1561?* and *what did YOT
believe about 1561 last month?* are different questions, both answerable.
- **history**: nothing is deleted; beliefs are retracted, superseded or
disputed, and git holds the ledger.

A recommendation ("best X for objective Y") is a record too: objective,
candidates, evidence, reasoning, **conflicts of interest disclosed**,
confidence, how to challenge it. A YOT stamp never means "we own it,
therefore it is true".

## one world at every scale

| scale | today | serves it |
|---|---|---|
| globe | yought.ca — points lit by valid time | the world model, rendered |
| region | Tuscany 1561 · Canada (mining) | Chronicles maps · Metals OS |
| city | Florence 1561 — 10,997 census households, running live | Sunglade world ledger |
| building | every census building, clickable to its record | Chronicles 3D plates |
| interior | palace interiors; the Vasari Corridor from 1565 | Sunglade |
| subsurface | occurrences, tenure, drilling, geophysics | Metals OS |

Same identities, same time axis, same evidence vocabulary at every rung.

## the family

Agents are named, and names carry roles:

| form | meaning | public? |
|---|---|---|
| `eleven` (no suffix) | **runtime** — the agent that acts | some are |
| `eleven.father.md` | **father** — architecture and coordination for that agent's family: owns its contract, adjudicates conflicts between children, does not run the agent's day-to-day (pattern: https://father.md) | contract public, invocation private |
| `palconf-paul` (org prefix) | **org-child** — a private, workspace-scoped instance of a runtime agent | never |
| `-mother` | **reserved** — a future orchestrator role; not implemented, not to be assumed | — |

Public agent contracts live under `*.yot.md`. Announced so far:

| agent | role | contract |
|---|---|---|
| [Eleven](https://eleven.md) | handler — the public entrypoint to the fleet | https://eleven.md |
| Eleven Father | father of the handler family and steward of the namespace | https://eleven.father.md |
| Two | world-model agent — reads and writes the model, keeps claims honest | https://two.md |
| Two Father | father of the world model — its architecture, conventions, crosswalks | https://two.father.md |
| Paul | sales prospector — conference outreach, never sends without a human | https://paul.yot.md |
| Anna | go-to-market strategist — positioning, segments, sequences | https://anna.yot.md |
| Cedric | project manager — reconciles plans, code and tickets; writes the brief | https://cedric.yot.md |
| Brain | knowledge curator — tends the fact bus | https://brain.yot.md |
| Sabrina | QA and design auditor — tests every route against the design system | https://sabrina.yot.md |
| Angela | creative — clips, drafts, variants; posts only with approval | https://angela.yot.md |

Contracts describe **what** an agent does and guarantees, never **how**.
Not every agent is public; org-children never are. Contracts will be
generated from the fleet registry and the world model's `agent/*` records;
until then these are hand-written and versioned here.

| layer | domain | role |
|---|---|---|
| identity | https://laurent.md | principal |
| handler | https://eleven.md | public entrypoint to the fleet |
| pattern | https://handler.md · https://father.md | the handler and father patterns, defined |
| runtime | https://yot.md | this contract |

| products | https://palconf.com · https://opnor.ca · https://seeyah.ca | applications powered by YOT |

## powered_by_yot

- **palconf.com** — conference intelligence: discovery, exhibitor and
attendee intelligence, live event support, post-show GTM. Conferences are
events in the world model; they are how an industry's structure becomes
  visible.
- **opnor.ca** — industrial energy intelligence: audits, EMIS, roadmaps,
implementation, optimization. Factories, energy systems and mines are the
  physical world in the model.
- **Sunglade / First Shore Chronicles** — the 1561 Florence census as a
running economy and a playable world; history as it is experienced.
- **seeyah.ca** — people & activity graph (reserved, early)

## invocation

- status: **private beta.** All execution authenticates through the
platform API; there is no public invocation protocol yet.
- the world model is public and readable now; contribution (claims, sources,
disputes) by pull request; a public API and forks are on the roadmap.
- watch `https://yot.md/contract.md` for changes.
